Andy Chou

Andy Chou, born to a Taiwanese family, grew up in Ghana and the United States. He is a Taiwanese-American entrepreneur fluent in Taiwanese, Mandarin, and English. With over 20 years of experience working with African, Chinese, and American businesses, Andy believes in applying simple technologies to disrupt underdeveloped industries in Africa while prioritizing ESG principles.

Upon returning to Ghana, Andy became a prominent advocate for bamboo as a sustainable construction material and a means of environmental conservation. He founded Bamboo Products Limited (BPL), an ESG entrepreneurship venture, to promote the use of bamboo in Ghana. BPL seeks partnerships and collaboration throughout the value chain, acting as a knowledge broker and capacity builder in local communities. Their focus areas include manufacturing, technical training, marketing and sales, and bamboo plantations.

Andy envisions a future where Ghana becomes a hub for bamboo construction and trade, leveraging its abundant bamboo resources. BPL represents this vision and aims to foster a more inclusive and environmentally-friendly business approach, prioritizing self-reliance and sustainability.

In addition to founding BPL, Andy has over 20 years of experience in information technology and real estate. He also founded SunO Dessert, a frozen dessert franchise. Andy is a graduate of Emory University’s MBA program and lives happily with his wife and two children.
